本片描述年輕的網球選手在一次巡回比賽中邂逅了一名中年貴婦，二人不理外界壓力相愛到底，貴婦甚至不惜放棄自已的事業，幫助青年進軍溫布頓世界網球大賽。本片的網球比賽場面在溫布頓球場實地拍攝，頗具逼真感。迪安·馬丁的兒子迪安·保羅·馬丁初登銀幕扮演工于心計的網球新秀即有不錯的表現，但片中加插的愛情故事過于老套，缺乏吸引力。此外，導演安東尼·哈維在片中并沒夫有拍出網球圈的生活感。
