今年7月19日，索尼音樂公司旗下的Epic唱片公司將發行新一套雙CD精選輯《精華杰克遜》（The Essential Michael Jackson）。 果Jackson最終成為了一個自由藝人，那么有興趣的公司就會開始來找他談判新的唱片合約，但基于現在的情況，開價不會太高。而Jackson自己的愿望則會是拿回他的金曲母帶權。

無論如何，歐洲索尼音樂公司的前總裁Paul Burger指出，如果Jackson能錄制出一張精彩的唱片的話，“任何唱片公司都會想要簽下他，包括索尼/BMG。” 另外有消息稱，該歌手正在認真考慮是否將和他的兄弟們進行巡演。不過關于在拉斯維加斯的回歸演出的傳言——依然還是傳言而已。

此外，審判也宣傳了Jackson的音樂，至少在一段時間內。根據尼爾森廣播數據系統顯示，Jackson音樂的播放率從宣判前的每天197次增加到宣判當天的1171次，增長率高達500%以上。
